WHATS NEW?

A Message from John Sayles and Sheree Clark:
Sayles Graphic Design is Closing

For nearly 25 years, we have worked side-by-side as partners in Sayles Graphic Design. In that time period, we have grown a successful business, received over 1000 awards, published three books, and employed scores of talented people. We have designed everything from logos to album covers (remember 33 1/3 rpm?!) to restaurant interiors. We’ve judged design competitions, given keynote addresses and seen our work be selected for inclusion in the Smithsonian. We’ve survived two relocations, the 1980s farm crisis, The Great Flood of ’93, the introduction of the computer, 9/11, and even an IRS audit.

Yes, it’s been a great ride, but the time has come: We are closing Sayles Graphic Design.

We want to assure you that this was a mutual decision. We are proud to go out while we are still at the top of our game. We leave behind no unpaid bills or debt, and our relationships with our vendors, clients and staff are all intact. We each simply yearn to move on and do other things with our lives.

Fork In The Road

Sheree is happy to announce the expansion of her health consulting practice: Fork in the Road (formerly Living Raw).  She has followed her passion to become a Certified Raw Food Chef and recently returned to school to finish a program in nutrition. She has begun providing one-on-one counseling as well as healthy cooking classes, and is looking for other ways to make a difference in peoples’ lives by helping them improve their health. You can reach Sheree by phone at (515) 249-2992 or email shereeclark@gmail.com. If you know someone who would like to experience increased vitality and live a more joyful life, please pass along Sheree’s contact information. (sheree@saylesdesign.com will also work as an email address.)

Hands On Art

John will be partnering with other design professionals on some exciting projects in the months ahead. He is open to new design opportunities and invites you to call (515) 249-2993 or email him at johnhsayles@yahoo.com (john@saylesdesign.com will also work as an email address). John is also pursuing a newfound passion for fine art and is debuting a line of paper mache sculptures this fall.

It would be an understatement to say that this was not a decision we made easily or lightly. For almost half our lives we have been partners and close friends. While the partnership – at least in this business venture – is ending, you will likely see us teaming up on projects or to benefit one of the many nonprofits we are committed to.

Finally, we thank you for your support of Sayles Graphic Design and for your continuing support during this time of transition. We are truly grateful that you have been a part of our lives. If you have questions about this news, we hope you will come to us directly.

Warmest Regards,

John Sayles
